Punjab Government Bans Na Maloom Afraad 2

Na Maloom Afraad 2
After 5 weeks of running successfully in cinemas Punjab Government issued a notification this Friday banning Na Maloom Afraad 2 from further screening.
Censor board cited “persistent complaints from different quarters” as the reason behind the ban. Though a legit reason hasn’t been given by the government for the ban yet the ban continues to keep Na Maloom Afraad from reaching the big screen.
This isn’t the first time Na Maloom Afraad 2 has fallen under scrutiny, it was barred in UAE citing that it “allegedly misrepresented Arabs”.
This Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa and Mohsin Abbas Haider starrer comedy film revolves around the misadventures of the above trio as they embark on a get-rich-quick scheme in Cape Town… involving an Arab sheikh and his gold toilet.
“This is a really strange move by the Punjab Censor Board. We had already received clearance by the censor board and the film released in September with no issues,”Nabeel Qureshi, director of the film, stated in an interview. “Were they just not watching the film at that time?”
Qureshi further said “To clear a film for screening and then ban it a month later sets a really bad precedent. It’s just ridiculous. Also, the censor board issued the notification on a weekend so I couldn’t even go to court to challenge [the ban] immediately,” he went on to add that he will take the matters to court and bring Na Maloom Afraad 2 back to the big screen.

Rangreza’s Official Poster

Our anticipation for Rangreza began with it’s teaser trailer release back in June in which Bilal Ashraf looked exceedingly hot followed by Urwa Hocane looking aesthetically divine and Gohar Rasheed portraying madness and all this with Abida Parveen’s soulful voice in the back ground, wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that we were in love.
And to remind us of our anticipation of this film here’s the steamingly hot and deviously charming official poster for the movie.

Rangreza’s Official Poster

This Bilal AshrafUrwa Hocane and Gohar Rasheed starrer musical romance is set to reach new heights for a Pakistani film and is said to premier in various international locations.
After Jaanan’s huge success it is only natural for us to have high expectations from Rangreza and there’s a good chance we won’t be disappointed, the movie is set to release this December and we are ready to be blown away with cinematic mastery.

The Beautiful New Song Of “Verna” Is Out

Verna has piqued interest in public in the wake of its teaser release. The teaser was very gloomy and dark and focused on  the aggression and revenge surrounding the events in the film.
The newly released title track “Sambhal Sambhal Kay” by Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna is all about love and roses. A lovely picnic in the woods between a loving couple while a photographer clicks them away is beautiful to watch and listen.

Yakeen Ka Safar Episode 25 Review

Ohkay so, as clichéd as it may sound but I hated chemistry as a subject but this chemistry is something else & surprise surprise I love it, well I am sure everyone else does too. It is such a relief that after weeks of being stagnant & slow, Yakeen Ka Safar has picked up the momentum & even though there are a few happenings in every other episode, the way they are conveyed compensate for all those slow episodes. It is commendable how the writer has maintained a balance between professional & personal lives of the characters & it shows how being in such a profession, it affects them on a personal level too. Yakeen Ka Safar has all of a sudden become a treat to watch & it is amazing!
So, Faryal came back with an ulterior motive, even though it was good that she learnt how to apologize, she realized her mistakes, she learnt how to say sorry but it is heart-wrenching that in all these years, one thing she couldn’t learn was acting. Seriously, all the scenes of the girl playing the role of Faryal despite being serious were amusing to me because I couldn’t divert my mind off how bad bad bad her acting was, whether she was crying, or pleading or looking at Asfand with some hope in her eyes, this girl really shouldn’t try her hands on acting & should give the characters offered to her in the future to someone else because I am sure they would do a better job than her or simply put, they’d be able to act at least!
I loved loved loved each & every scene of Asfand & Zubiya & I loved that there was so much focus on them & their feelings throughout this episode. Just because Zubiya lost her patient, Asfand knew that it was taking a toll on her & obviously he wouldn’t have shown support to someone else but because it was Zubiya he went out of the way to make her feel at ease because he could see that she was suffering. Asfand has obviously fallen for Zubiya & despite seeing how she keeps herself distant, Asfand continues to throw hints every now & then to let her know that he is thinking about her, that he is seriously considering her as his life partner.
Zubiya not only understands what Asfand says, she also feels the same way about him but just because she has had a bad experience in the past, she now walks on the eggshells, that is the reason why she reminded herself of her mother’s advice & immediately grew cold towards Asfand. I love how Zubiya never responds to Asfand with straight forward answers, like she always says something which he never expects. Throughout this episode I loved how short & sweet the dialogues were but still the characters were running high on emotions & the chemistry was oozing out of the TV screen.
Since Asfand finally got a chance to tell Faryal that he has changed & he has moved on & since he got rid of the burden that may be he was carrying in his heart, he got a clear vision & a chance to take some steps towards Zubiya. All those glances, all those smiles, every single expression that Asfand had while looking at Zubiya was beyond perfect & what I loved was how even Zubiya was taking note of everything but continued to ignore him as she was still unsure!
The entire birthday celebration scenario was nicely done, it was good to see Usman’s family having a good time & most importantly with people who were their well-wishers. The way Zubiya looked at Gaiti & Haroon was so sweet, like in her mind she already pictures them as a family & now she will try to make that happen because she knows that both of them can complete each other. I never really thought that Zubiya would actually admit that she was getting jealous of Faryal, like she was disturbed that she came back & it was her subtle way of telling Asfand what she actually feels. The entire scene where Asfand got to tell her that he gets envious of Dr. Haroon was amusing yet cute, like Zubiya immediately told Asfand what she had on her mind in stead of getting uncomfortable or staying silent, I like that Zubiya believes in transparency & honesty, that is why despite being reserved, she never lets anyone have any misconceptions or misunderstandings about her!
So, Asfand finally confessed, he told Zubiya that he believes she will be a perfect ‘partner’ for him & even though it came as a surprise for Zubiya, I loved how she contained herself, like I said, this is the best thing about Zubiya that she always reacts & responds in ways that Asfand least expects but what makes their relationship even perfect is that Asfand knows that Zubiya is like that & he accepts her the way she is. I love how Dr. Shehroz is trying to play the cupid & how he encourages Asfand. It was so good seeing the glimpse of old Asfand back who used to laugh, who used to be happy, who knew how to live life & this is definitely something that Zubiya has done, the love that he has for her has done!
This episode of Yakeen Ka Safar was simply perfecttt. After a long time I am enjoying the type of romance that is being shown on-screen, the way two people respect each other, understand each other & make it clear that they are going to be there for each other is simply beautiful. Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir have elevated the level of this drama & even though I felt it was missing the spark, the moment they both came together, they took to another level. I must say Hira looked absolutely beautiful in this episode & so did Sajal Ali. Ahad Raza Mir looked handsome & charming & yes, that can be said about Dr. Shehroz or Shamil Khan as well. Definitely looking forward to the next episode because now looks like Daniyal’s track will get a closure because of Urooj’s re-entry. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Age Is Just A Number.

People tend to gravitate towards moods and situations and hobbies and habits and even other human beings who are closer to them in age. While there’s hardly ever considered anything wrong in being maturer and wiser beyond your years, there is always an element of ridicule involved when someone older behaves in a younger way.
However,we have some very talented actors and actresses who will make you believe without uncertainty that age is infact just a number. They play characters much younger than themselves and being out a new dimension to them with their experience.
We have made a list of some stars whose age in real life you would never be able to guess, considering the on screen roles they perform.
Who can beat this man when it come to acting and for that matter, looking flawless. His recent roles, varying from Irtaza to Mohid to Fawad Khagga, all go more than skin deep with him. He embraces them with ease and brings his sombreness to the required boyish charm and creates a combination that is simply a treat to watch. You cannot find a lot of forty six year olds who would be able to swoon super heroines on screeen and million star struck fans off it. There is nothing even remotely middle aged about Humayun Saeed, just raw masculinity and very well groomed acting skills.
Talking of the best among the best, Mahira Khan still leads the way. When she appeared as Falak, everyone thought she had acted young enough but then came Sadqay Tumharay and you wouldn’t believe how at ease Mahira was as the innocent and passionate college girl Shano. She proved she can go years back, which she did again as Saba in Bin Roye and yet again looked perfectly fit for the role. Part of the charm may be her sheer stroke of good luck, because she is so gorgeous without makeup that it is not hard to rewind a whole decade from the thirty three year old super star’s face.
When the somber and serious businessman Ashar became the frivolous and carefree Zaroon, a lot of people were skeptical that he might be the wrong choice for this role, but he proved everyone wrong and shone brightly as the handsome man who still had a lot of lessons to learn in life. His Bollywood roles have also been quite fun and young. All in all, from Numm to Behadd to Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Fawad can easily turn back the gears and you wouldn’t notice a thing out of place.
Sarwat Gillani also defies her thirty five years very easily on screen and even off it. Her slim figure and animated persona fits her right into the centre of much younger roles. She can easily play the young and cunning Zoya and nail it perfectly and then go on to become the Alvira of Koi Nahi Apna and flaunts being the mother of a seven year old easily. From being a young mother to a young unconventional college student, age is never a deterrent in the roles Sarwat can play.
Sanam Saeed has a very nonself conscious aura around her. She is so comfortable in her own skin that she dons a colourless dopatta and no makeup looks of a sad, impoverished mother in Shukk and then the fiery and temperamental Kashaf, both with ease and charm. This gorgeous thirty two year old also has the ability to nail any and every character that comes her way, young or old, married or single.
Last but not the least is this gorgeous diva who surprised us by playing the role of mother of a teenaged daughter and translating the feelings and reservations of such a character perfectly. She has also done many roles that suit her age and has nailed them all, but for Pakeeza, she went on to play a woman much older than herself and never once did she fall short in her effort.
